FYM CRAFT BREW LIFESTYLE: AT VERDUGO BAR IN L.A. & NEW BELGIUM'S LA FOLIE 2011

Finding a beer such as this year's batch of La Folie from New Belgium Brewery is like finding your favorite band's 7" with the red vinyl you wanted before it goes out of print. Things like this make FYM's craft brew dreams come true. Check out New Belgium's true-to-flavour description:

"La Folie Wood-Aged Biere, is our original wood-conditioned beer, resting in French Oak barrels between one and three years before being bottled. Peter Bouckaert, came to us from Rodenbach home of the fabled sour red. Our La Folie emulates the spontaneous fermentation beers of Peter s beloved Flanders with sour apple notes, a dry effervescence, and earthy undertones."

Process and quality make this beer ($20) for a 22 ounce bottle at 6.00% alc. FYM paid a visit to LA's (Glassel Park to be exact) Verdugo Bar where we stumbled upon this bottle of La Folie. If you're a fan of sour craft brews then this will be right up your alley.

The Verdugo Bar itself, has a very cool-cozy feel with a couple rooms inside- while outside boasting a large patio with plenty of tables. We assume that their beers rotate pretty often as the beer menu had some marked off and a new beer was being put on tap while FYM was there. We feel like Verdugo Bar would be the perfect place to scope out a few new speciality beers with your crew outside on the patio on a nice upcoming Spring Forward weekend in L.A... Alright, now stop reading and go on a hunt for La Folie, you won't regret it!

Cheers,

FYM
