FYM ON THE LIST: OUTSIDE LANDS • SAN FRANCISCO • DAY TWO • GOLDEN GATE PARK

Day two of OSL was full of surprises. FYM had a great time meeting new friends and seeing a few bands we absolutely love.

FYM started off our Saturday at Outside Lands catching Costa Mesa's The Growlers live at the Sutro Stage. Their latest album, Hung At Heart (released January of this year) is definitely worth a listen! Check out the band's website HERE.

While back in the VIP area FYM's Nick Codling took a moment to say hello to Thomas Mars, the lead singer of French rock band Phoenix. We saw Phoenix many years ago in San Francisco at Popscene. They were touring in support of 2004's Alphabetical record. It's pretty incredible to have watched this band rise to such great success over the years. Listen to their new single Trying To Be Cool HERE.

FYM also had a chance to say hello to Griffin Goldsmith, the drummer/singer in Dawes. The band's new album Stories Don't End,  is their latest and greatest record (definitely in our top 10 of the year).

Up next FYM had the pleasure of seeing one of the best bands out of  Seattle, The Head and the Heart! The group's self-titled 2009 release is one of our favorite records in the past 10 years. The Head and the Heart finally have a new album coming out on Sub Pop October 15th. Check out their latest single Shake, and view their Fall US Tour Dates HERE.

Nine Inch Nails closed out FYM's day two of Outside Lands. Trent Reznor is a music genius. His attention to detail, giving his fans an unparalleled live experience, is a true joy to see in person. We love hearing the classic material he created in the late 80's into the 90's... but the content he covers in post-Fragile albums, is what truly inspires us. NIN have a new album coming out this Septermber. Listen to their new single Copy of A HERE.
